Its the Sears Scratch and Dent in Delaware right off of I-95.The washer and dryer are Commercial Maytag's (Washer & Nat.
Gas Dryer) which replaced our Commercial Kenmore Elite's Nice...I currently have a 5 year old kenmore washer and dryer.
The washer is an 80 series and I believe the dryer is too.We actually got the dryer off craigslist not too long ago and its natural gas.
They make some nice appliances!!We have always had Sears Kenmore Appliances, and I am a fan of all of Sear's products- our latest models were Kenmore Elites (Quiet Pac III's from 2005) but we decided to replace them with new GREEN (barf!
LOL!) Maytag commercial ones to get the government's 2010 Energy star rebate.
Its funny, I sold our old Kenmore's on Craigslist.
I remember seeing your video of your new appliance which made me think of posting this one.
I hope they last a long time. Thanks and they should, we just replaced them to get the Government's Energy Star rebate for 2010.

haha..I never though my video would make anybody put up a video of theirs but i guess it did!
Well you have a very nice looking washer and dryer now, Kenmore, Maytag, Amana, Whirlpool are all good brand appliances.
Although i did hear Maytag refrigerators kinda suck but their washers and dryers don't.
Anyways i hope your new washer/dryer is working good! They have a nice shiny plaque that says they are commercial grade (that's good enough for me) LOL!
Whirlpool manufactures most of the big name appliances on the market today (including Maytag, and Amana) so that's probably why your recognizing the style.
We use good detergents (I don't think I ever remember us using the powdered stuff) and our washers always have a bad habit of sucking up socks and things- but I'll keep an eye on that filter.

This page of Malls-info.com lists every Sears outlet store in the US, organized by state, with contact information and addresses.
These Sears locations sell items that are scratched or dented at a reduced rate.
Sears outlets sell brand name washers, dryers, and other appliances, and, of course, they sell their great Craftsman tools.
Craftsman tools are wonderful because they are super heavy duty and have a lifetime warrantee.
if you find a broken wrench at a garage sale, for instance, send it in to the Sears service center and they'll send you a new one.
Sears has top quality dishwashers, stoves, and refrigerators, at low discount rates, and has a great shipping policy, too.

Best place to purchase appliances in Philly? We are moving to Elkins Park in a week and half and was wondering if anyone can suggest the best place to buy new (or scratch/dent) kitchen appliances?
We need the whole set Dishwasher, Gas Stove/oven, Microwave, Refrigerator.
Not looking for top of the line stuff, but decent quality (whirlpool, maytag, kenmore, lg) in stainless probably.
Looking to spend around $2000...less if we can get a deal on a set or scratch/dent obviously.
Best buy is usually the most competitive here vs.Home depot/lowes, but not by much.
I did see a local store online, but the name escapes me.Anyone ever buy from the Sears outlet in Delaware off 95?
Feel free to mention if there are any places to stay away from too.Thanks.I've never used them, but I have heard good things about the Sears Outlets.
Co-workers say, but a scratched/dented item, put it in an alcove (fridge) or closet (washer/dryer) and you'll never notice the scratches/dents.
Also, Sears also has an outlet in the Franklin Mills outlet mall, NE of Philly.Interesting reading in this blog, if you want some insider opinins: World of Appliances, examples: World of Appliances: Electrolux and Frigidaire refrigerators are crap World of Appliances: Things I’ve Learned: About Appliances in General Two big thumbs up for the Newark Sears Outlet - I think there may be one in PA as well.
You beat the sales tax in DE and they can give you the number of a delivery/installation service....
worked for me!Avoid Maytag/Magic Chef and Whirlpool washing machines these days - all made in a crappy Maytag factory - they've been making junk for years now.
I would also avoid a Whirlpool/Kenmore dishwasher - pretty failure prone as well.GE and Frigidaire make pretty good stoves and fridges.
Whirlpool makes a good fridge as well. For dishwashers, I've heard Bosh makes good ones...
Thanks for the info!I forgot to mention GE.They were first on my list.
I've had GE appliances with no problems in the past (though their TVs were horrible).
I've had whirlpool W/D too, but we won't need those.
I've heard with stainless you have to buy the same brand or they won't match well.
True?Scratched Samsung off my list after reading some poor reviews of their Refrigerators.
Surprised to hear about Maytag being crappy.Never had one, but thought they were reliable (or maybe I saw too many commercials...
lol).If I am not mistaken Kenmore is rebranded Whirlpool and I think Whirpool bought Maytag 2008-09.
I find Sears in general overpriced for most things vs.competition, which baffles me, because I don't even know people who ever shop there.
I am glad to hear good things about the Sears Outlet though.I could care less if the side/back is scratched, since no one will see it.
I will check out the links. Thanks again.Philadelphia, Bucks County, Montgomery County, Delaware County Appliances, Front Load Washers, Dryers, Cooktops, Ovens, Electric and Gas Ranges, Stoves, Side by Side Refrigerators, Dishwashers, and more!
-- Robert Steven's Appliances What about this place?People in the know would choose the best in breed so to speak of each appliance and not go all matchy-matchy.
Stainless is a major PIA to keep clean if you have kids - fingerprints galore.
  • Charles B Webster Detention Center 1941 Phinizy Road Augusta 30906 (706) 821-1101
I would go with various colors or white or black etc...less expensive and easier to keep clean.
I think the new trend it to pick bright colors and mix and match.
Maytag hasn't made anything decent in 30 years. When Whirlpool bought them, they began using their plants and employees...
tarnishing the Whirlpool and Kenmore brands IMO...Check out Gerhard's Appliances (they have 3 or 4 locations).
We found competitive prices there and they had great service.
Check out Gerhard's Appliances (they have 3 or 4 locations).
We found competitive prices there and they had great service.
I second Gerhard's.There's also a small appliance store in Cheltenham that I can't think of but they were great.
Kenmore's have declined over the years and Sear service is horrible.
We bought a fridge from them and had several service calls. If you buy a Kenmore fridge buy a Haier dorm size fridge as a backup.
We had a GE washer that lasted 15 years without a service call so when it finally died we bought another one plus a dryer; good investments so far.
I did a search for Gerhards and included were a handful of sites of complaints from pi$$ed off customers (one site specific to Gerhards).
I know those are usually the loudest voices though, so I take them with a grain of salt.
I know experiences can vary from customer to customer anywhere.
How do their prices compare? If you buy in Delaware there's no sales tax but i don't know if you'll be able to get things delivered to Elkins Park, Pa.
When spending a couple grand you'll be saving yourself some money for sure.
I think best buy has some excellent deals when buying the whole package.
Just check out their flyer in the Sunday paper. There are a bunch of scratch and dent stores in the city.
I know there's one on Rising Sun Ave.just a few blocks south of Cottman Ave.
That's pretty close to Elkins Park.I imagine it would be pretty hard to put together an entire matching set from a scratch and dent store though.
last we looked, we found the local store actually undercut sears and home depot when all was said and done.
I was honestly quite surprised, having expacted a premium.

City-Data.Sears is a great place to shop for just about anything.Outside of food and other items you might find at your local grocery store or convenience store, sears pretty much has it all.
But what happens if something you purchased from them breaks down or starts to run improperly.
Going to Sears to find parts to help you get your products that are in need of a little help getting back to running properly is a great ideal.
If sears sells a certain product then they will most likely have everything a product would need to start running properly again.
To save yourself some time and money you should try calling tech support before hauling a product in to be fixed.
Someone with the right knowledge may be able to give you a great helping hand.
You may be able to explain to a professional what problems you are having and then they can let you know if it is possible for you to fix it at home.
You may get lucky and they might just send a sears part out to you and you can install the piece yourself.
But if the problem is too hard they can also let you know what to except and how long it may take your product to be fixed.
If the product needs to be taken in don’t forget to ask if they will come and pick up the product for you.

Depending on your location they may have a pick-up and delivery service. Most everything that you can buy at Sears that has the potential of breaking down will come with an automatic warranty. But in some cases you can purchase an extending warranty. If you’re not real good at fixing things I suggest if it is offered you should probably take the extra time that the product can be under warranty. Also if you’re not sure how well you will like the product then be sure to know exactly what the return policy is on the product.
